Daily public bosphorus ferry departs from Eminonu port (the first port near galata bridge) at 10:30 and in summer time at 13:30 everyday. After the one and half hour cruise and 6 stops along the bosphrous, the ferry will be arrived to Anadolu Kavagi which is a small fisher families town inside forest. Anadolu Kavagi is a twon where in Asian side in northern city. When you arrive to this small town, your first destination must be Yoros Castle (Turkish; Ceneviz Kalesi: Genoises Castle) it’s on the top of the town and it has very nice and wide view over to the bosphorus. It takes about 20 minutes to climb to the Castle from port, following the signs between homes. Eventough the Catsle has been named by Geneoises, it’s clear that it was belong to Byzantine Empire becaue of inscription in of the towers in Greek language, but the catsle was conquered by Genoises in 1348. After castle visiting, following the same way you can come back to habour. You can not come back to city without eating fish in this fisher town. You can find 5 or 6 restaurants near the port and all of them offers you good lunch, but we can recommend the you the Altin Balik Restaurant, this four floor and traditional decorated fish restaurant with terrace will turn your day to unforgetable memory with marvellous bosphorus and forest view. Come back ferry to Eminonu at 15:00 and in summer time 17:00.

You must start the day early for this plan with a map, this is mostly including walking routes. Your first destination must be Fatih Mosque (the mosque named of the Istanbul Conquerer Fatih Sultan Mehmet) also district name. Following the tram line to the Grand Bazaar direction, you can arrive to Istanbul University building (this building also is worth to see), if you go on walking on the left way of university gate, you will reach the main street of Fatih district, after 15 minutes walking on this street you will arrive to Fatih Mosque. After the visiting of Fatih Mosque, follow the street which is in north of the Fatih Mosque, to the Yavuz Selim Mosque, this mosque is by another Ottoman Sultan. There is yard of the mosque, you can stop and have rest there, but when you look for the view from yard, you will see the oldest public area of Balat and Golden Horn, even you can see Taksim. If you walk to the east from Yavuz Selim Mosque you can visit the Zeyrek quarter and see the renovated old homes, but your route must be to the Golden Horn direction. You should arrive to sea side. When you arrive the Golden Horn, follow the cost till Fener Port. Fener district is also another old place and there are alot of things to see, for example you can find the easly Orthodox Church near the Port. You will easly realise a red building from area nearby port or church, it’s Fener Rum Orthodox college, that’s your new direction. After visiting college, follow the streets to Fethiye Mosque the other name is Maria Pammakaristos Church. Fethiye and draman streets are on the south of Fethiye Mosque, after Fethiye Mosque (Maria Pammakaristos Church) follow this street to the west till the Kariye Museum, other name is Chora Church. You can visit the Chora, after visit, near the Chora, there is a restaurant famaous with ottoman meals, name is Asitane Restaurant, you can have lunch there and get relax. The second part of plan is easier than the beforenoon part. After lunch at the Asitane, walk down to the golden horn sea side following the city walls. You can visit Tekfur Palace near the city wall. But on the way of Golden Horn you have to change your direction to Balat Port. When you arrive to Balat Port, get on the ferry to Eyup direction, it’s last stop. Then, get on cable car (teleferik) to climb the Pierre Lotti. Pierre Lotti is the top point of Istanbul European part and the view from hill is perfect over to the Golden Horn. There are some nice cafes in Pierre Lotti, you can get relax there. You can come back to Eyup by cable car again, and use ferry from Eyup till the Eminonu. Happy Finish…

The Princes’ Islands (Turkish: Kızıl Adalar (Red Islands) or more commonly Adalar (Islands) as they are officially named; classical , are a chain of nine islands off the coast of Istanbul, Turkey, in the Sea of Marmara. These islands are Büyükada with an area of 5.36 km², Heybeliada (Greek: Halki) with an area of 2.4 km², Burgazada (Greek: Antigoni) with an area of 1.5 km², Kinaliada (Greek: Proti, meaning “The First”, being the closest island to Istanbul) with an area of 1.3 km², Sedef Adası (Greek: Terebinthos) with an area of 0.157 km², Yassıada (Greek: Plati) with an area of 0.05km², Sivriada (Greek: Okseia) with an area of 0.05km², Kaşıkadası (spoon island, named for its shape) with an area of 0.006 km², and Tavşanadası with an area of 0.004 km². During the summer months the Princes’ Islands are popular destinations for day trips from Istanbul. As there is no traffic on the Islands, the only transport being horse and cart, they are incredibly peaceful compared with the city of Istanbul. Most ferries call in turn at the four largest of the nine islands: Kınalıada, Burgazada, Heybeliada and finally Büyükada. Ferry services are provided by Istanbul Seabuses (İDO), a firm operated by the municipality of Istanbul. In spring and autumn the islands are quieter and more pleasant, although the sea can be rough in late autumn and winter.

During the Byzantine period, prince and other royalty were exiled on the islands, and later members of the Ottoman sultans family were exiled there too, lending the islands their present name. During the 19th century the islands became a popular resort for Istanbul’s wealthy, and Victorian era cottages and houses are still preserved on the largest of the Princes’ islands. The Princes’ Islands have become more and more ethnically Turkish in character due to the influx of wealthy Turkish jetsetters, a process which began in the first days of the Turkish Republic when the British Yacht Club on Büyükada was appropriated as Anadolu Kulübü, for Turkish parliamentarians to enjoy Istanbul in the summer. However, the Greek, Armenian and Jewish communities still constitute a small part of the islands’ population. The islands are an interesting anomaly because they allow us to have a rare and incomplete insight into a multicultural society in modern Turkey, possibly alike to the multicultural society that once existed during the Ottoman Empire in places such as nearby Istanbul/Constantinople For many Turkish people the islands are fondly remembered as the home of famous short story writer Sait Faik Abasıyanık and football legend Lefter Küçükandonyadis.

The exhibition can be viewed between 20 September 2008 and 20 January 2009.

Curator of the exhibition Montse Aguer Teixidor, stated that “For the first time we present Salvador Dalí in Istanbul as a unique, innovative, peculiar, brilliant and different artist. We wish to be able to bring the spirit of such museum, so everyone can understand and get a closer look at Dalí’s thinking, his obsessions, his iconography, and the dreamy and surrealist world of a universal, provocative and unique artist.”
